Do you ever skip over a blog if it doens't have pictures? Even if it's a topic you love? I haven't posted for a over a week and when I was thinking about why, I decided it's because I don't have any pitures to share. When it comes to fashion blogs, I wouldn't be very interested in one if there were no pictures, but when it comes to running blogs, I could care less about pictures. Since this is both, I decided it was alright for me to write.
I celebrated my 27th birthday on Sunday, March 27th. Yep, my golden birthday. My wonderful hubby through me a surprise party Saturday night and although I think our friends did all the work, I will give him the hubby props for being so wonderful to me. It was a fabulous night with friends but fabulous nights usually hinder a runner's performance the next day. Such was my case on Sunday. I set off for a 15 miler, but I knew by mile 3 that it wasn't going to happen that day. I made it 8.5, but have decided to make sure I take better care of myself the day before a long run.
I've also decided to try and switch my running to the morning instead of after work. The only bummer is that I am terrified to run in the dark by myself (even with the dog), so I am stuck on the treadmill until hubby recovers from some knee problems and can run with me again. This morning was my first morning to get up at 4 am for coffee and I was on the treadmill by 4:40 for a 5 miler. I think I can handle this routine as long as I stick with two rules:
1.) In bed no later than 8:30
2.) Coffee IV drip
Ok, maybe number two is a little extreme, but I will probably be consuming a fair amount of coffee throughout the day...yes, even more than usual. I will try to not be ridden with guilt for the rest of the day that this post is not laced with pictures. I will try even harder to get some pictures!
